Spring Break

Taya Shalaby

The perfect spring break look is one that only requires a swimsuit. I paired my polka dot swim top with a denim on denim look to give my outfit a festival beachy vibe. I’m always one for the denim on denim but what I really think sealed the deal with this outfit was the details on my swimsuit. I loved the ruffles and the pattern, I think it definitely spiced things up. My bamboo clutch also added a tropical flair to the look which is perfect for spring. It’s not a summer look without some killer shades so I picked my current favorite, my Poppy Lissiman “Le Skinny”. The cowboy black belt gave the look a California feel, which I think makes it more Coachella appropriate. I wore this outfit to a beach party but I think it’s perfect for any music festival or a tropical get away. Even though my top is a swimsuit, because of the intricate details I can wear it as a top without it coming off as vulgar which I love. I would even pair this bikini top with high-waisted beach pants to also create a tropical look. Buy my swimsuit at Shop Veranera using my code “thestylepharaoh” to get 15% off. Happy spring break baby girls!

Veranera Swim is a Colombian born label being cultivated in New York City. They have tons of cute, sexy styles that suit any beach anywhere around the world. In preparing for my spring break I wanted to find unique styles to stand out from the crowd, and I’ve found that with Veranera Swim. I personally love the polka dot swimsuit because it’s a modern twist of a classic print, as well as the attention to detail with the ruffled string. I’m also a big fan of the quality of the product. The material flatters the body very well. Veranera also has a “try before you buy” concept which isn’t common with swimwear, so that you can try on different styles and sizes from the comfort of your own home. The package was delivered to me within a few days of purchasing it, just in time for my vacation. Use my code “thestylepharaoh” to receive 15% off your order! I can’t wait to style this two piece during my vacation, so stay tuned for more pictures to come!

Arcade Dream

Taya Shalaby

So for this shoot I wanted it to have a vintage/ young feel. We shot in Magic planet ( the coolest aracade lol) I was inspired by the bold colors yet the dreamy feel an aracde instilled in you so these are the two looks I put together. For the first look I wore a vintage head scarf as a top, super easy to do you just fold it in a triangle and tie a knot in the back. My Asos Jeans that I'm obsessed with and Velvet ysl heels, and of course my Poppy Lissiman shades to pull the look together. For my second look, I wore my phsycadellic prom dress with combat  boots to give the girly dress an edgy feel, and pulleed it together with vintage transparent orange Chanel shades. Photos by the talented Flash Dxb. Let me know what you think of this look!

For this look I wanted to incorporate the trend of he season, Vinyl pants! I wanted to remain street with a twist of chic which explain the addtion of the berret, the cat eye glasses, and the mini LV. Also, I couldn't wear just any normal vans, which is why I spiced up the outfit with some color with my flame vans that I got from ASOS. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Hoodie: Topman// I cut it shorte

Vinyl pants: ASOS

Shoes: Vans from ASOS

Berret: Zara

Sunglasses: Poppy Lissiman ( my obsession)

On the move with Nasiba Hafiz & Haj Bags

Taya Shalaby

Two of my favourite designers come together with TSP on the move. Nasiba Hafiz is such a creative brand and it embodies a young care free sense of style, something that definitely everybody should own! Haj Bags are actually my friends who came up with these incredible leather bag designs, that they eventually made, and it turned into a business! I'm obsessed with mine, it's like my blue baby, I'm surprised I even set it down for the pictures.

Fitness with TSP: Sunset Yoga at Talise Spa at Madinat Jumeriah

Taya Shalaby

Madinat Jumeriah, Talise Spa is now offering Sunset yoga everyday at 5:30. I admit, I was hesitant about trying it, considering the weather, however it was so worth it. It was such a relaxing experience and now a TSP favourite. It is more of a meditation experience than a work out but it really does relax your mind, body and soul. The mere experience of being in touch with nature especially in a bubble like Dubai is very enriching. The sounds of the waves and being on the sand gives you the feeling of getting down and dirty, it's not an environment where you focus on how you look like in the mirror but rather you focus on yourself.

A TSP must try!

Harvey Nichols A\W 15

Taya Shalaby

Situated at the new Design District, Harvey Nichols redefined the theme of  “timeless” in their autumn winter collection fashion show.  Setting the scene with  backdrops of many different large estates, the models simultaneously walked the black and white carpet, with elegance, style and of course amazing hair and makeup. The looks looked as if they were pulled from all regions of the world, starting in europe then the US and of course ending with the middle east. Overall the styling of the looks to the venue was impeccable and extremely well done, TSP can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

COS A\W 15 Preview

Taya Shalaby

The balance between calm and drama, and contrast between cloth that’s either draped or energised with functionality, is at the heart of COS for Autumn / Winter 2015. The collection’s key inspiration is Japan. You can keenly observe how Japan’s influence was neatly weaved into every piece. Whether it is the opportunity a piece gives you to be able to layer it with other items, or simply the fabric itself, you can easily tell that it’s inspiration comes from the east. Here are some of my favourite pieces.

Feelin' Blue

Taya Shalaby

blue 1 |bluː|adjective (bluer, bluest)1 of a colour intermediate between green and violet, as of the sky or sea on a sunny day: the clear blue sky | blue jeans | deep blue eyes.

Not to say that I’m picking favorites, but if I were, blue would be it. In Egypt, blue was associated with the sky and with divinity. The Egyptian god Amun could make his skin blue so that he could fly, invisible, across the sky. It is also said that blue could protect against evil. No wonder it’s my favorite.  Perhaps one of the most natural colors on earth, blue is impossible to avoid. It is best paired with complementary colors or better, neutral ones, such as black and white. It’s such a rich color in it’s nature that it deserves to stand out and complement its  surroundings like the sky and sea, or in this case beautiful blue tiles.

Alexander Wang x H&M

Taya Shalaby

Alexander Wang x H&M  hit the shops on Thursday November 6, and by the looks of it,  all the good stuff was  sold out within the first few hours of selling. It's that good. The quality is exceptional and it's something everyone wants to get their hands on. The entire collection is based on sports and fitness in general. The materials used are mostly stretchable, sweat absorbent and amazing. It's the sleek cuts and monotone colors that Alexander Wang is known for and he's definitely incorporated his unique touch to this collection. I've never come across workout clothes so cool it actually makes me want to get up and go to the gym if it means I can wear the collection. He's created everything from whistles, water bottles and boxing gloves to leggings sweatshirts and glow in the dark raincoats! My favorite pieces would have to be the glow in the dark raincoat and the sports bra.

Gouna Diary

Taya Shalaby

Finally I’m in my happy place. Gouna is a mix between the maldives and Ibiza. The party scene can be wild but so can the islands. My personal favorite island is Tawila, it has beautiful crystal clear water and silky white sand, which is why I thought it perfect to bring along my hot pink hat to complement the island’s character. It’s the first time that I wear these overalls. I always thought they were so hard to style, however, If you pair a plain linen overall with splashes of color, it can look tremendously stylish. The secret to styling something that is plain is never to over do it. If I wore an electric blue shirt instead of a bikini top it would have been too much. The fact that it’s literally a splash of color adds mystery and elegance to your overall look.
